This Lovely Destruction

Sept. 2008.

This is the second of a two pieces I was commissioned to paint.

The person wanted me to portray the character they use in their role playing game. The character has a split personality. One side, Kyra, is a vicious violent person, while the other, Miriam, is more gentle and warm-hearted and is tormented by Kyra's destructive personality.

The pieces are meant to represent the duality inside a person, that no one can be all good or all bad. We are all capable of both.

I'm very pleased with how these pieces turned out. I especially liked using the leaves for texture. Both pieces turned out great and I'll definitely be using leaves again in my pieces.
